Maryland’s favorite beach destination, Ocean City, is beginning to slow down from the busy summer season into the meandering warm days and crisp evenings that welcome late summertime and early Fall. It’s a wonderful time to wander the uncrowded beach in search of the perfect shell, go for a swim while the ocean waters are still at their warmest, or take a bike ride on the wide open 3-mile Boardwalk anytime of the day once again.

It has proven to be a challenging time for many folks right now, particularly families with school-age children. Plus, many people are currently working from home remotely. Someone once said – “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!” We understand that old saying sounds quite simplistic in comparison to the challenges people are experiencing, but a little positivity, a little fun, and maybe a little break in scenery could be just the ticket you and your family need this Fall season.

It all starts with some

Bright Ideas

  • Assateague Island National Seashore

Visit a place recreated each day by ocean, wind, and waves. Life on Assateague Island has adapted to an existence on the move. Explore sandy beaches, salt marshes, maritime forests and coastal bays. And, of course, the wild horses – enjoy their beauty from a distance, and you help make sure these extraordinary wild horses will continue to thrive. Discover and explore the edge of the continent.

Assateague Island Visitor Center is located in the Maryland District of Assateague Island on the southern side of Rt. 611 outside of West Ocean City.

  • OC Life-Saving Station Museum

The mission of the Ocean City Museum Society is to inspire and support the interpretation and appreciation of the cultural and natural history of Ocean City, Maryland, the Worcester County coastal region, and equally, the historical role performed by the United States Life-Saving Service. Step back in time and explore the history of Ocean City and the role of the US Life-Saving Service.

The OC Life-Saving Station Museum is located at the south end of the Boardwalk, overlooking the Inlet & Assateague Island at 813 South Atlantic Ave.

  • DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum

DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum was founded with the goal of recovering and preserving our maritime heritage, offering the community and visitors a culmination of many years of meticulous research and much hard work and dedication to the preservation of our maritime history. The collection of shipwreck and recovered artifacts is one of the largest in the Mid-Atlantic region. Travel back into time through a hands-on experience.

The Shipwreck Museum is located at 708 Coastal Highway less then a mile north of the Delaware state line in Fenwick, DE.

A few more for good measure??

Why certainly…
